A thing that's been bothering me...
I seem to recall agreeing to play tennis with someone. I don't know who. Equally, it may have happened during a dream*. I really don't know which.
Now every time I pass the tennis courts near Gylly Beach I feel a touch of mild anxiety. I mean, it's kind of unsettling suspecting that one day someone might hold me to this agreement. Despite my complete lack of aptitude for the game. Or interest in it. Hopefully, then, it was a dream.
I really must learn to tell the difference one day.
In other news: the ice cream kiosk at Gylly Beach was open today. [Sighs] The tourist hordes will be on their way then...
(I'm half-Cornish; so I'm allowed to complain. Or possibly just half-complain. So, actually, as it turns out, my complaint being implicit in the ellipsis was probably the safest way to go. Hmm, well done, me - go have some hummus. Thanks, I don't mind if I do. OK, you can stop that now, before it gets annoying. Fair enough).
*A particularly dull one, obviously.

Perhaps the person that you were meant to play tennis with has my cornflakes that vanished?
Shhh - don't give the game away. 'Emits' - if you say 'tourists' no one will believe your Cornish right to complain.
And, even though I like ice-cream, it is a scary thought.
Hmm, you have a point - I should have kept quiet about that, shouldn't I? Bloody emmets'll already be converging on Falmouth like ants on a discarded ice cream cone, without me alerting more of them (he says, using an overly apt simile and wildly over-estimating the influence of his own blog).

You know, I'm beginning to like this (possibly) phantom tennis player less and less...
I think we might have a case for Resnick here...
I was having an important 2½ hour meeting today and all I could think of was this Cornish phantom tennis player eating vanished cornflakes.
And now he's even disrupting meetings in Finland...
He must be stopped!
Well, always assuming he exists.
I remember once being in a very important job interview and all I could think of was novelty eraser collecting. Maybe that helped me to get the job, by the way, so thanks :)
If we left a bowl of Cornflakes out by a tennis court (in Cornwall and Helsinki) do you think we might catch him -or her?
Of course! And if we left a Polish Ham on rye with at least two types of mustard in the same place the whole case might be solved instantly in typically coincidental Resnick fashion.
Hmm, I probably couldn't submit that as one of the storylines for Thursday. Could I?
Ok. If you leave a bowl of cornflakes, that ham thingy and two types of mustard by a tennis court and I'll leave a bowl of cornflakes,
a piece of smoked tofu and cloudberries on snow, which covers the tennis court, doesn't that mean he/she will come into view somewhere midway between Cornwall and Helsinki, like in Jutland?
Oh well, at least (s)he won't be in Cornwall challenging people to tennis matches.
