A vague announcement

I wonder if I can get away with saying the month-long pause was a tribute to the memory of Harold Pinter?

No, didn't think so. After all, at least three weeks of it weren't even posthumous (mmm, humous....)

Er, anyway, what I actually came here to say was that I might not be here much in future. I've got a bit bored of it all and am probably heading elsewhere. Not to the 140-character land of Twittering, mind; I just fancy a bit of a flight from reality for a while - not sure quite what that'll consist of yet, but more than likely it will take place aboard a blog.

More details as and when...

This is Jonathan Meades's fault, isn't it?

Ah - that explains it. You were missed, sir. :(

Funnily enough, I've been feeling much the same - 27 months blogging - what more is there to say?

Lots probably - but perhaps in a different guise, in a different format?

I toyed with Twitter for a week. It's not for me. I'm the wrong demographic. It was like snacking on the street, walking along - I prefer slow food.

Be sure to let us know when you do re-emerge. :) Meanwhile, good luck with 2009, wherever it takes you...

What? Are you going to leave yet another brilliant blog? Sigh. I'm still not completely recovered of not having my daily (erm, well not daily, but I wished it was daily) portion of Not 4'33". Sigh.

Do I have to blame Jonathan Meades? Hibernation? Scissors? Sony? Too thin socks? Bugger anyway. I blame them all.

Where are you going to go sitting now? Perhaps to the place where I could write something witty between the words "jiffy pop, gloomed, enchantress, antediluvian and squuck" if I only could?

Well, that I hadn't blogged in over a month might have been at least partly Jonathan Meades's fault, since I've watched quite a number of his docu-whatevers during that time. However, Taiga and Bel are more on the write lines (also, thanks, both of you :)), namely, a different guise and missing Not 4'33". It was much more fun filtering my everyday life through Yucca plants, lonely blogposts, cats, and frozen peas and so on. Kind of like group therapy for one.

However, I also fancy starting something new, and Not 4'33" had got to the point where none of it having been planned in advance was becoming slightly troublesome (especially the posting in the future part).

So, erm, in other words, expect something a bit Not 4'33"-ish, but also sort of not, to emerge from its chrysalis - like a bemused caterpillar yelling, "I want wings! Where are my wings?!", then sighing and muttering, "Oh fine, I'll just be a caterpillar, then... But I don't have to like it!" - sometime within the next few weeks. At least, that's what I'm vaguely expecting after scribbling some notes earlier, but really who knows...

But I might well be back here now and again too, as the mood takes me - not least because I'll probably just get confused again and give up after a few weeks... Ho hum.

Anyway, thanks to t'other Anon too :)

I'm very glad to know you're not leaving the blogosphere - although I'll miss the random pictures of interesting things lurking in Falmouth's interstices - unless there are also going to be pictures of interstitial interesting things at the new place?

Twitter is no substitute for blogging, but it's infinitely more diverting than Facebook. Any website that lets me legitimately spy on what Howard Rheingold is saying to Clay Shirky is all right by me. Others may not share my geeky enthusiasms :)
